Tips for Splitting PDFs
Split Modes
Use "All Pages" to create one PDF per page, "Custom Ranges" for specific pages like "1-3, 5, 7-9", or "Every N Pages" to divide into equal groups of N pages.
Custom Ranges
Enter page numbers separated by commas. Use dashes for ranges. For example, "1-3, 5, 7-9" extracts pages 1, 2, 3 as one file, page 5 as another, and pages 7, 8, 9 as a third file.
Page Preview
After uploading, thumbnail previews are generated for every page. In custom range mode, click on thumbnails to toggle page selection and build your range visually.
Download Options
Each split file has its own download button. Use "Download All" to trigger sequential downloads of all files. For large sets, your browser may ask for permission.
Browser Compatibility
Works in all modern browsers (Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Edge). Uses pdf-lib.js for splitting and pdf.js for thumbnail rendering, both running entirely in your browser.
Original Preserved
Splitting never modifies your original PDF file. The tool creates new PDF documents from copies of the original pages, leaving the source file completely untouched.
